Walker's Heart

Walker's Heart Condition: The first evening of Walker's birth it was discovered he had a heart defect called Transposition of the Great Arteries. It is a very serious defect, but treatable with surgery. This was devastating to us. We had waited so long for our son and now something very scary and potentially life threatening was happening. He was transported to Egleston and had two heart surgeries over the next week. At two weeks old, he came home. Today, we had his annual cardiology appointment and Dr. Carpenter is very happy with his growth. He is a healthy (strong willed) 2.5 year old with no physical restrictions. It is a joy to look at that little scar on his chest and be reminded of God's healing power.
